Mt Joggers Half Marathon and 10km Run

Do you want to improve on last year’s time, prevent injury or just enjoy the event a bit more? Need some extra help to get you to the start line?

The Mt Maunganui Joggers & Walkers Club has teamed up with Foundation Sports & Rehabilitation Clinic to bring you some great training. We have put together a crack team of sports physiotherapists, massage therapists, strength and conditioning coaches and running specialists, all at your disposal to help you achieve your Mt Joggers Half Marathon and 10 km goals.

Foundation Run Coach Rob Bathgate is an experienced athlete in his own right, having run numerous on and off road events, including a number of ultra marathons and winning the Xterra Waihi Trail Marathon by over half an hour in 2014.

As well as a keen runner himself, he has a sound understanding of quality vs quantity with training sessions, and a great amount of experience interpreting how the runner's body reacts and recovers both during training and in the lead up to a goal event. He believes no one training plan can work for everyone, and the best gains are had when it's tailored to the individual, their goals, their ability and their strengths (and weaknesses), and as a result has helped a number of athletes smash their PBs, run with ease and train effectively.

Gold Package - $35/week

  • Individualised weekly training programme from Foundation's run coach Rob Bathgate including regular feedback and advice
  • 2 strengthening classes per week for the length of your programme
  • Massage x 2, 30 minute sessions to be used within your programme
  • Muscle balance assessment and injury prevention programme from the team at Foundation Sports & Rehabilitation Clinic
  • 60minute Nutritional review from dietician Emma McMichael at Foundation Sports & Rehabilitation Clinic

Silver Package - $25/week

  • Individualised weekly training programme from Rob Bathgate including online feedback/consultation
  • 2 strengthening classes per week for the length of your programme
  • Muscle balance assessment and injury prevention programme from the team at Foundation Sports & Rehabilitation Clinic
