Kia ora, I’m Tyla. I’m an Occupational Therapist and Registered Hand Therapist with a passion for helping people get back to doing the things they love.
I began my career at Waikato Hospital, completing rotations across rehabilitation, orthopaedics, mental health, general medicine and hands and burns. It was during my rotation in the Hands and Burns service in 2019 that I first discovered my passion for hand therapy. After spending a year working in Australia, I returned to New Zealand and began working in private hand therapy, completing my postgraduate study and becoming a Registered Hand Therapist.
I enjoy treating a wide range of hand and upper-limb injuries, from finger injuries through to more complex hand and wrist conditions. I enjoy working alongside each person to understand their goals and tailoring their rehabilitation to help them return to work, sport and the activities that are important to them.
Outside of work, life is busy with my young family. I enjoy keeping fit and active, getting to the gym and spending time with my husband and two young children.
